Recruitment
Everything you need to know about rushing Theta Xi at Auburn — how it works here at Beta Zeta, and how the official Auburn IFC process fits in.
Rush Is Informal Here
There's no application and no audition. You're free to reach out and get to know the chapter at any point during the year — most guys join over the summer or in the fall, but our door is open year-round.
Reach Out
Text our Recruitment Chairman, Joe Goza, at (913) 300-1872, fill out the interest form, or DM us on Instagram @authetaxi.
Tour the House
Our Recruitment Chairman will set up a time for you to come by 835 West Magnolia Avenue and meet the brothers on your schedule.
Hang Out
Summer cookouts, game days, and brotherhood events — spend real time with the chapter so both sides know it's the right fit.
Receive a Bid
If it's a fit, you'll receive a bid to join. Accept it, and the new member period begins — along with eligibility for our new-member scholarships.
How Auburn IFC Recruitment Works
Theta Xi is a member of Auburn's Interfraternity Council, which sets the university-wide recruitment calendar. Joining any IFC fraternity involves a few official steps alongside getting to know the chapter:
- Register with IFC. All men rushing an IFC fraternity register through ChapterBuilder. Registration opens May 1 and is free.
- Rushing costs nothing. There is no fee to participate in recruitment. If you accept a bid, a one-time $70 IFC bidding fee is charged to your Auburn student eBill.
- Eligibility. You must be a full-time enrolled Auburn undergraduate to join a fraternity.
- GPA requirements are set chapter by chapter — talk to our Recruitment Chairman about where you stand.
Dates and details are set by Auburn IFC each year — confirm the current calendar at Auburn IFC's Join page.
A Year of Rush
Registration Opens
IFC recruitment registration opens May 1 on ChapterBuilder. Sign up early — it puts you on every chapter's radar.
Summer Rush
The primary season. Chapters host relaxed events all summer so potential new members and brothers have real time to get to know each other. Most men who join Beta Zeta join this way.
Formal Recruitment Week
Early in the fall semester, IFC hosts events like Rec Day, Open House, and Kickoff where you can meet every fraternity, with formal recruitment typically the second week of classes.
Open Bidding
Chapters can extend bids outside the formal periods through continuous open bidding — which is why rush at Beta Zeta never really closes. Reach out whenever you're ready.
The Numbers Back It Up
Joining a fraternity isn't a detour from academics or a career — at Auburn, the data says it's an advantage in both.

Rush FAQ
When can I rush?
Any time. Summer and the start of fall semester are the busiest seasons, but Beta Zeta recruits year-round through open bidding. Spring works too.
Does rushing cost anything?
No — rushing is completely free. The only cost in the process is a one-time $70 IFC fee billed by Auburn if you accept a bid.
Do I need an invitation or recommendation?
No. You don't need to know a brother, a legacy, or anyone in Greek life. Reaching out is all it takes — most of our brothers started exactly that way.
What is the chapter looking for?
Men of integrity who can carry our four pillars — scholarship, brotherhood, service, and leadership. Come as you are; character matters more than résumé.
What about grades?
Academics come first here — study hours, tutoring, and up to $22,500 a year in scholarships back that up. GPA expectations are chapter-set, so ask our Recruitment Chairman where you stand.
What happens after I accept a bid?
You'll join as an Associate Member and go through new member education with your pledge class — and you're immediately eligible to apply for the Rising Stars and Edgar scholarships.
Up to $22,500 a Year in Scholarships
Beta Zeta has one of the largest scholarship endowments of any Theta Xi chapter in the country — merit-based and need-based awards created specifically for new members.
